Let the price of the ticket = P and the number of miles travelled = N
As per the relationship stated in the question, P ∝ N.
To convert this to an equation, introduce a constant of proportionality, say x.
Therefore, P = x * N.
When N = 900, P = 120. Substituting, the value of k can be calculated as x = \(\frac{2 }{15}\).
Therefore, P = (\(\frac{2 }{ 15}\)) N.
If N = k miles, the price of the ticket P = (\(\frac{2}{15}\)) * k = \(\frac{2k }{ 15}\)
The correct answer option is A.
