Values of Data Set Y = (Values of Data Set X * 5) + 16

Range = Highest Value - Lowest Value

So, Range of Set Y = Highest Value of Set Y - Lowest Value of Set Y
= Highest Value of Set X*5 + 16 - ( Lowest Value of Set X*5 + 16 )
= Highest Value of Set X*5 + 16 - Lowest Value of Set X*5 - 16
= Highest Value of Set X*5 - Lowest Value of Set X*5
= 5 * (Highest Value of Set X- Lowest Value of Set X)
= 5 * Range of Set X = 5*21 = 105

So, Answer will be E
Hope it helps!

Data sets X and Y each consist of 4 values, as shown in the table. If the range of data set X is 21, what is the range of data set Y?

A. 0
B. 37
C. 84
D. 100
E. 105

Range of {x₁, x₂, x₃, x₄} = 21

If each item in a data set is multiplied by the same positive constant, then the range of the new data set will be equal to the old range multiplied by the same constant.

Range of {5x₁, 5x₂, 5x₃, 5x₄} = 5(Range of {x₁, x₂, x₃, x₄}) = 5(21) = 105

If the same constant is added to each item in a data set, then the range of the new data set will be equal to the old range.

Range of {5x₁+16, 5x₂+16, 5x₃+16, 5x₄+16} = Range of {5x₁, 5x₂, 5x₃, 5x₄} = 105
