Say there are \(x\) people in front of Amy. So, number of people behind J will be \(24 - x\).
Let number of people between J and A are \(y\)
Represented as -
_ _ _ _ ... J _ _ _ _ ... A _ _ _ _... ------> Front
-- 24-x -- 1 ---- y ---- 1 --- x ---
So, \(24-x + 1(Jed) + y + 1(Amy) + x = 35\)
=>\( y = 9\)
So, 9 people between J and A.
Now, it's given that there are 15 people behind Amy
=> \(24-x + 1(Jed) + y = 15\)
=> \(24-x + 1 + 9 = 15\)
=> \(24-x + 10 = 15\)
=> \(x = 19\)
So, number of people in front of J are -
\(y + 1(Amy) + 19\)
=> \(9+1+19 = 29\)
