PA^2 + PC^2 = PB^2 + PD^2
4 + 16 = 9 + PD^2
PD^2 = 11
PD = sqrt(11)

wouldn't that be Pythagorean theorem? but we do not know if the diagonals pass through point P, then how is this method possible?
