The candies in a candy shop can be divided into unscented and scented, and they can also be divided into blue and green. There are 1000 unscented candies and 1000 blue candies. 25% of blue candies and 50% of green candies are scented. When the candies which are neither scented blue nor scented green are sold out, how many candies are there still in the shop?

Solution:
- Total Blue = 1000
- Blue Scented = 25% of 1000 = 250
- Blue Un-Scented = 75% of 1000 = 750
- Total Green = 1000
- Green Scented = 250% of G = \(\frac{G}{2}\)
- Green Un-Scented = 50% of G = \(\frac{G}{2}\)

- We already know total Un-Scented = 1000
- Or, \(750+\frac{G}{2}=1000\)
\(⇒\frac{G}{2}=250\)
\(⇒G=500\) - Total candies in the shop \(= 1000+G=1000+500=1500\)
- Candies sold out = candies neither scented blue nor scented green = total uncented candles = 1000
- So, number of candies left \(= 1500 - 1000 = 500\)\(\)
Hence the right answer is Option C
