Given: In a cafeteria, the manager observed that 30 percent of the customers ordered a burger along with a lemonade.

Asked: What percent of the customers did not order burger?
.6x% = 30%
x = 30/.6 = 50
Percentage of customers who did not order burger = 50%

Pretty simple question! 30% of total customers ordered both, and 40% of the customers who ordered Burger didn't order lemonade. Therefore, the remaining 60% must have ordered both.
So, 60% of customers who ordered Burger = 30% of total customers.
Therefore, 100% of customers who ordered Burger = 50% of total customers.
So, customers who didn't order burger (or nothing at all) belongs to the remaining 50%.
So, 60% of customers who ordered Burger = 30% of total customers.
Therefore, 100% of customers who ordered Burger = 50% of total customers.
So, customers who didn't order burger (or nothing at all) belongs to the remaining 50%.
