Asked: What is the units digit of \(6^{12} - 7^4 - 4^7\)?

Unit digit of 6ˆn = {6,6,6,6,6,,.....} : Unit digit of 6ˆ12 = 6
Unit digit of 7ˆn = {7,9,3,1,7,9,3,1,..}: Unit digit of 7ˆ4 = 1
Unit digit of 4ˆn = {4,6,4,6,,..}: Unit digit of 4ˆ7 = 4

Unit digit of \(6^{12} - 7^4 - 4^7\) = 6 - 1 - 4 = 6 - 5 = 1

IMO A

What is the units digit of \(6^{12} - 7^4 - 4^7\)?

A) 1
B) 2
C) 3
D) 4
E) 5
\(6^\){Any number} = Units digit \(6\)
\(7^4\) = Units digit \(1\)
\(4^2 = 6\) , Thus, \(4^7 = 4^{2*3+1} = 4\)

So, we have \(6^{12} - 7^4 - 4^7 = 6 - 1 - 4 = 1\), Answer will be (A) 1
