The important point is that Alfred will keep cycling at 15 kmph till the time Alex and James meet.

- Time taken for Alex and James to meet = 40/(9+11) = 40/20 = 2 hours.
- This is the time for which Alfred will cycle at a constant speed of 15 kmph.
- So, the total distance cycled by Alfred = 2 x 15 = 30 km.

Choice C imo.
