@Jonas99If r=s+a and r+s=b, what is is s in terms of a and b.

r & s are variables whereas a & b are constants. We have to eliminate r & find s in terms of a & b.

r = s+a = b - s
2s = b - a
s = (b-a)/2

Hope it helps!
