The certain product reaches consumers after passing through 4 stages. First, the manufacturer decides the basic price, then it goes to the Packers at price x. After that to the wholesaler, then the retailer who finally sells it to the consumer at price y. If packers earn 20% profit, wholesaler 10%, and the retailer 20%, what is the value of y/x?

A. 1584/1000
B. 130/100
C. 1480/1000
D. 584/100
E. 480/100

We use the concept of successive percentages

X(1.2)(1.1)(1.2)=y
hence y/x= (144*11)1000

Tip - you can check if the answer choices are multiple of 11
