A bookstore sells hardcover books and paperbacks. The number of paperbacks sold is always 75 percent of the number of hardcover books sold. If the number of hardcover books sold increases from 12,000 to 18,000, what will be the increase in the number of paperbacks sold?

P = 3/4(H)

The #of hardcovers increases from 12000 to 18000 => difference = 6000

P = 3/4(6000) = 3 * 1500 = 4500

Correct Answer: Option (A) 4,500
