Another approach to solve:

First number in this equation=X
Last number=X+6

Since this is an arithmetic progression,
\(\frac{(First+Last)}{2}\)=Average

2X+6=8
X=1
Numbers are 1,3,5,7

14 is clearly not possible, as the sum cannot be even, as three odd numbers will only give odd output
