1/55 when multiplied by 2 in the numerator and denominator gives 2/110.
1/11 = 0.090909. ( and 1/9 = 0.1111 - inverse of it, just to remember).
2/11 = 0.18181818
2/110 = 0.018181818
So, if you omit the 0 post decimal. We are left with 84 terms and the recurring decimal value is 18.
1 denotes the odd position,
8 denotes the even position.
So, 84 lands us in 8, which is the 85th digit as per original sequence.

writing 1/55 in decimal form will give 0.0181818... Thus digits at even position after decimal will be 1 and odd position will be 8 (except at 1 position after decimal.) Thus 85th digit will be 8.
