Davanti has a standing monthly order for bottles of extra-virgin and refined olive oil, sold for $18 and $6 respectively. The average cost per bottle in his order is $14.40. By replacing 10 bottles of extra-virgin olive oil with 60 bottles of refined olive oil, however, Davanti would lower the average cost per bottle of his order by $0.90. I am not good at these.... I will type out my error
(18e + 6r) / (e+r) = 14.40
Then....
(18(e-10) + 6(r+60)) / ((e-10) + (r+60)) = 13.50
And I think this is a far too complicated point to start from because my math got complicated and it took me far to long to end up with...
554.4 = 4/5e
e= 693
that number was too large so I stopped...I need to learn how to approach these problems in a way that they are solvable. I am not good at algebra yet.

Let N be the original number of bottles.
The original total cost is 14.40N.
Replacing 10 bottles of extra-virgin oil with 60 bottles of refined oil:
10 × $18 = $180 removed
60 × $6 = $360 added
So the total cost increases by $180, while the number of bottles increases by 50.
The new average cost is:
14.40 − 0.90 = $13.50
Therefore,
(14.40N + 180)/(N + 50) = 13.50
14.40N + 180 = 13.50N + 675
0.90N = 495
N = 550
Answer: (D) 550
