The easiest thing will be to think about the 5 blue marbles as a unit--or a lump, as I prefer--that doesn't change.

We have 7 items: one lump and six identical green marbles. That means that your lump () could be in one of 7 positions where _ indicates each of the identical green marbles.

Now I wouldn't probably write this out fully in the exam, but this shows how I would conceptualize it. Once you understand you're dealing with 7 items, it's really just realizing that the lump could exist in any of the successive positions so it's not necessary to draw the whole diagram.
