If A={0, 0, ..., 1} and B={0, 0, ..., 100}
If set A and set B are combined, then range is 100-0=100
Again,
If A={0, 0, ...., 30} and B={20, 20, ..., 60} then the combined set will {0,0,-----,20--,30,----60}
Here Range =60-0=60
In both scenarios, combined set range is greater than 50. So, why statement A is insufficient? What I am missing? Bunuel

The question asks: is the range of Set B greater than 45?

If A={0, 0, ..., 1} and B={0, 0, ..., 100}, then he range of Set B IS greater than 45, it's 100 (the answer is YES);
If A={0, 0, ...., 30} and B={20, 20, ..., 60}, then the range of Set B is NOT greater than 45, it's 40 (then the answer is NO).

Set A has 20numbers but since the numbers are not given we cannot decide what it's range is, same goes for set B.
So from statement 1 the range is greater than 50 for both sets put together does not help us to determine if set B's range is greater than 45
Statement 2 says set B's range is greater than that of A
Does not help
Statement 1 and 2 put together does not give any new information.
