You are absolutely right, it should be mentioned in the stem that x is a non-zero number in order the answer to be A.
Thanks for your quick answer! Tedious that such well-established GMAT material providers make mistakes....

On the other hand, Official questions are official questions for best practice

What is the ratio of y to x?

(1) y = 3x

(2) x = 11

Hi,

I think the OA is wrong here. If x=y=0, then the ratio is undefined (or at least not 1:3). Am I missing something?

o, 1, -1 and region btw -1 and 1
for all data sufficiency questions

u r correct, if x=y= 0 then ur correct if not its c
