1) Sufficient. We can see that z is closer to -10 and hence is lesser than the average.

2) Insufficient. x=-9, z= -45, average(x,-10) = -9.5, So z<average
 x=-1, z = -5 , average(x,-10) = -5.5, So z>average

implies distance between Z & -10 is smaller compared to distance between X & Z

Doesn't imply => distance between Z & -10 is smaller compared to distance between X & -10
