We can get the value of x. that is the total price paid before taxes.
Statement 1:-
Tax is given = $0.118 per gallon
We know that taxes are 10%. That is $0.118 is 10%. We can calculate 100% is we know 10%
Sufficient.
Statement2:-
We know the total price before taxes from question stem. And he purchased 120 gallons.
So price/galloncan be calculated= total price/120
Sufficient.
