Otto and his wife, Anna, leave home at 1 p.m. and bicycle in different directions. How far apart are they at 4 p.m.?
(1) Otto rides at 12 mph westward for two hours and then stops.
(2) Anna rides at 10 mph southward for one hour and then rides westward at the same speed for three hours.

To know how far are Otto and Anna, we must know, from 1p.m to 4.pm, how far Otto go (condition 1) and how far Anna go (condition 2), and what is the difference between Otto's and Anna's direction (condition 3) .
(1) Otto rides at 12 mph westward for two hours and then stops. => with this information (condition 1) is met because we can calculate the journey distance of Otto, but (condition 2) and (condition 3) are not => not sufficient => Eliminate A & D
(2) Anna rides at 10 mph southward for one hour and then rides westward at the same speed for three hours => with this information (condition 2) is met, but (condition 1) and (condition 3) are not => not sufficient => Eliminate B
Now, combine (1) and (2), we can calculate the journey distance of Otto and Anna, as well as the difference in the direction of Otto and Anna.
=> C is the Answer choice
