 R/B = 10/9
 R/190-R = 10/9

And you know from the question that:

Total number of sales by Raina and Bob = R + B = 190

From Statement 1 you learn:

R - B = 0.1R

With the two equations, it is possible to solve for R and B and determine R - B:

R + B = 190

R - B = 0.1R, so combine the two equations to get:

2R = 190 + 0.1R

1.9R = 190

So R = 100 and B = 90, meaning that R - B = 10.

2) Statement 2 can be translated into:

B = (9/19)(B + R)

And since you know that B + R = 190 you have:

B = (9/19)(190)

St1: x-y= 0.10 * x
=> x - 0.10x = y
=> 0.9x = y 
=> x = 10*y/9 => 0.9x+x=190 => 1.9x = 190 => x = 190/1.9 => x = 100
