1) Gurjit reached the pole at exactly 6:20 am.
Did Gurjit manage to reach back home latest by 6:50 am?
we cannot answer the question without knowing speed or time taken by Gurjit to reach home from pole.
NOT SUFFICIENT

2) Gurjit's average speed while running back home from pole, was 20% lesser than his average speed while running towards the pole.
Did Gurjit manage to reach back home latest by 6:50 am?
we cannot answer the question without knowing speed /distance of Gurjit's travel.
NOT SUFFICIENT

combine (1)+(2)
Gurjit reached the pole at exactly 6:20 am.
And
Gurjit's average speed while running back home from pole, was 20% lesser than his average speed while running towards the pole.

Distance between pole and Gurjit's home remains constant.
Gurjit required 20 mins to reach pole.
his average speed was 20% lesser while returning back.
if we take speed as x and time as t
distance=s1t1=s2t2

x*20=(0.8)x * t2
t2=25

time taken from pole to home =25 mins

Total journey time =20+25= 45 mins.

Did Gurjit manage to reach back home latest by 6:50 am?

YES. 6.45 am

SUFFICIENT

correct answer is C, but total time taken will be 20+25=45 minutes...
20*s=(4/5)*s*t

solve this and you will get return time as 25 minutes.
