frm 1: total sum contributed/ total no of people = avg contribution ( 100$)
since total sum and no of people is unknown so insufficient
from 2: total sum is given but total sum and people is missing insufficient
from 1 & 2 we can say : total no of people= 47000/100= 470 sufficient. C

The answer is C. this can be solve Logically:
(1) gives us an equation with two variables (sum/n=100). insufficient.
(2) gives us a different piece of data (sum=47,00) - insufficient.
Combined, we have an equation with one variables - definitely solvable!
