What is 20 percent of x?
(1) Sixty percent of 50/x is less than 2x.
(2) Forty percent of 8x is 16.

What is 20 percent of x?
20 percent of x = \(\frac{20}{100}\)*x = \(\frac{x}{5}\)
so basically question is asking for value of x
STATEMENT (1)---Sixty percent of \(\frac{50}{X}\) is less than 2x.
\(\frac{60}{100}\)*\(\frac{50}{X}\) <2X
\(\frac{15}{X}\)-2X <0
\(\frac{15-2X^2}{X}\)<0
from here we will not get the exact value of X so this statement is INSUFFICIENT
STATEMENT (2)---Forty percent of 8x is 16.
\(\frac{40}{100}\)*8X = 16
\(\frac{2}{5}\)*8X = 16
X = 5
from here we get exact value of X so we can find the value of \(\frac{X}{5}\)
hence this statement is SUFFICIENT
