from 1 &2 only we can solve
IMO B ;
as in #1
The stock's closing price on Tuesday was the same as its closing price on Thursday. there is no info about friday and in case Friday closing is 3 then avg < opening day insufficient and in case >3 then sufficient
#2
The sum of the stock's highest and lowest closing prices during the week was 20
value is>10$ everyday
sufficient
IMO B
At the beginning of a five-day trading week, the price of a certain stock was $10 per share. During the week, four of the five closing prices of the stock exceeded $10. Did the average closing price of the stock during the week exceed its price at the beginning of the week?

(1) The stock's closing price on Tuesday was the same as its closing price on Thursday.
(2) The sum of the stock's highest and lowest closing prices during the week was 20.

B imo.

a) doesnt say anything about the lowest price, hence insufficient to calculate the avg of the week.
b) is giving us the average of two days, including the "unkown" day from the question. We know that all other days the closing proce was > 10$, hence sufficient.

Is the average price for the week > $10?
4 of 5 days in week price > $10
1 of 5 days in week price < $10

(1) The stock's closing price on Tuesday was the same as its closing price on Thursday: insufic.
T=TH then M, W or F had 1 day < $10 and the remaining days > $10
MTWTHF={0,11,11,11,11}=44/5=8.8<$10
MTWTHF={0,20,20,20,20}=80/5=16>$10

(2) The sum of the stock's highest and lowest closing prices during the week was 20: sufic.
H+L=20, so if M=0 and T=20, then the remaining days will > $10
MTWTHF={0,20,10.01(3)}=(20+30.03)/5=10…>$10 always

Answer (B)
