The median height of the 5 children in family A is 118 cm. How many children in family A are taller than 128cm?

(1) The average height of the children in family A is 120cm.

(2) The second highest child in family A is 130cm.

Given: Height of children in family A: __ __ 118 __ __
Asked: How many children are taller than 128cm?
Inference: Last 2 boxes can be >= 118. We need info on last two heights(highest height and second highest height).

1) Average height is 120cm
\(\frac{Sum of all the 4 heights + 118}{5} = 120\)
Sum of all the 4 heights = 600 - 118 = 482. Insufficient.

2) The second highest child in family A = 130
__ __ 118 130 Greater than or equal to 130
So, 2 children have height that is greater than 128cm. Sufficient
