Given: c:b = 5:8
t - c =?
Statement 1:
b = t + \(\frac{25}{100}\) * t = 1.25t
There is no information on c.
Statement 1 is Not Sufficient.
Statement 2:
t = c + \(\frac{28}{100}\) * c = 1.28c
Value of t - c depends on the value of c and t, either of which is not given.
Statement 2 is Also Not Sufficient.
Statement 1 and Statement 2 combined:
b = 1.25t and t = 1.28c
We still don't have the value of either t or c, so t - c cannot be calculated in dollars.
Statement 1 and Statement 2 together are Not Sufficient.
