Given the figure, what is \(y_2\)?
If we can find slope from given coordinates OR if distance between these three points is given we can find \(y_2\).
(1) \(y_1\) is 1.5
Using pythagoras theorem we can't find the \(y_2\) from neither of the triangles{(5,\(y_2\)), (0,\(y_1\)), (5, \(y_2\) - \(y_1\)) or (0,\(y_1\)), (\(x_1\),0), (0,0)} as slope can vary.
INSUFFICIENT.
(2) \(x_1\) is -2
Using pythagoras theorem we can't find the \(y_2\). Similar reasoning as above.
INSUFFICIENT.
Together 1 and 2
We can find the slope of smaller triangle{(0,\(y_1\)), (\(x_1\),0), (0,0)}. The slope found can thus help us find \(y_2\) using pythagoras for biggest triangle.
SUFFICIENT.
