Do not confuse with the statement: Square root has to be positive and we deal with square roots of only non-negative numbers.
Here, we get |x|=7, so x can be 7 or -7.

Target question: What is the value of \(x\)?
Statement 1: \((\sqrt{x})^2 = 7\)
Since the square root of a negative number is undefined, we can conclude that x must be positive.
So, it must be the case that x = 7
Since we can answer the target question with certainty, statement 1 is SUFFICIENT
Statement 2: \(\sqrt{x^2} = 7\)
In this case, \(x^2\) becomes a positive value for all possible values of x.
So, if \(x = 7\), we get: \(\sqrt{x^2} = \sqrt{7^2} =\sqrt{49} =7\)
Similarly, if \(x = -7\), we get: \(\sqrt{x^2} = \sqrt{(-7)^2} =\sqrt{49} =7\)
In this case, there are two solutions: x = 7 and x = -7
Since we can’t answer the target question with certainty, statement 2 is NOT SUFFICIENT
