d = 3.6y + 45

salary for tomas = dt = 3.6(y)t +45
salary for silvan = ds = 3.6(y)s + 45

3.6(y)t +45 = p + 3.6(y)s + 45

we need to find value of p.

C-1

(y)t= 6+ (y)s
put into eq,

3.6(6 + ys) = p + 3.6(y)s + 45

only one constant, so we get value of P easily.

this is sufficient

C-2

3.6(y)s +45 = 81000

we fan put this into eq,

3.6(y)t + 45 = p + 81000
not sufficient as two unknowns.

Only A is sufficient to ans.

In a company, an employee's salary in thousands of dollars, d, is directly linked to how long they have worked at the company in years, y. The formula to calculate an employee's salary is d = 3.6y + 45. According to the formula, how much greater is Tomas' salary than Silvan's ?

(1) Tomas has worked at the company for 6 years longer than Silvan.
(2) According to the formula, Silvan's salary is $81,000.
