(1) In 2003, the average age of a family of four adults was 25 years.

Answer should be C.
Clearly, (1) and (2) individually is not sufficient.
(1) tells us the combined age of the four adults in 2003. Which is 25x4=100. In 10 years time till 2013, each gains 10 years and thus the total age of the adults reaches 140.
From (2) we know that the total combined age of adults + children is 25x6 = 150. Therefore, combined age of children are 150-140=10. Therefore, average age = 5.

We need to find average age of children, how does adult data will help. Not sufficient

Again we don't know anything about average age of adults so cant find average age of children. Not sufficient
(1)+(2) not sufficient, since we can find average age of children in 2003, but we don't know weather author is asking for which year.
