Clearly, Caiyan ran 8 kms and Liyan ran 4 kms but we cann't conclude how much time the entire event took as well as the speed of each individuals.
So, answer choice A & D are eliminated.
2. Till half time, both had ran the same distance
Till half time, both of them could have ran 11, 22 or may be 33. So, B is not our answer.
If we combine the above statements, it still remains uncertin how much time the entire event took as well as the speed of each individuals during the entire period. So, my answer would be E.
