Of the 700 flat screen televisions sold by Easy Electronics, 30% offer high-definition and measure over 40 inches diagonally. How many of the flat screen televisions offer high-definition and are 40 inches or smaller in size?
(1) 55% of the flat screen televisions measure more than 40 inches diagonally.
(2) 105 of the flat screen televisions are 40 inches or smaller and do not offer high-definition.

I could resolve this using this the 2x2 matrix
Greater than 40 Inches Equal or less than 40 inches
HD 30% of total x
Non HD y 105
Total 55% of total
We are looking for x here
Statement A - 55% of total are greater than 40 inches. we can only get the "y" part here and not enough for us to get "x"
Statement B - 105 is given but that statement independently is not helping.
But when we combine A and B statements, we get the answer we need and thus Option "C" is correct.
Greater than 40 Inches Equal or less than 40 inches
HD 30% of total x
Non HD y 105
Total 55% of total
We are looking for x here
Statement A - 55% of total are greater than 40 inches. we can only get the "y" part here and not enough for us to get "x"
Statement B - 105 is given but that statement independently is not helping.
