The only odd perfect cube between 1 and 100 is: \(3^3 = 27\)
well question doesn't explicitly mentioned that we should included/exclude both 1 and 100 from given range. So we are not sure because q can be 1 as well.

Next
Quote:
(2) The price of the item after p percent decrease is $1946.

While the statement provides the final price of the item, one needs the value of p to solve for the original price of the item.

INSUFFICIENT
The given amount is not final amount. It is an intermediate amount after p% decrease and after that amount increased by q% and that is our final amount.

I think answer should be E as there are 2 Possibilities for values of q and from statement 1 there will be 2 possibilities for values of p.
Hi Purnank,

If not explicitly stated, the phrase between a and b excludes a and b. The correct phrase to include a and b would be from a to b

As the odd perfect cube is between 1 and 100 and not from 1 to 100, only one cube is possible i.e., 27. Therefore, q = 27 is given in question.

St.1 tells us p = 2.7; Not Sufficient as we only know % of decrease and increase, but no value for price whatsoever

St.2 gives value after decrease, we can get the value after increase; but we want the original value before decrease, that we can't get. Not Sufficient

St. 1 and 2 together, we get value 1946 after 2.7% decrease => we can get original value. Sufficient
