Solution:

(1) The car used 20 gallons of gasoline for the 200-mile trip. Sufficient

The average number of miles per gallon of gasoline for a car is\(\frac{ 200}{20}\) =10

(2) The car used 1/4 of its 20-gallon tank to for every 50 miles that was driven. Sufficient

\(\frac{1}{4}\) * 20 = 5 gallons for every 50 miles

The average number of miles per gallon of gasoline for a car is \(\frac{50}{5} \)= 10

Hence, Option D

(1) The car used 20 gallons of gasoline for the 200 mile trip.
200 miles /20 gallons = 10 miles per gallon
Sufficient
