Statement (1) says: “Jason averages 25 mph for the 2-hour drive taking the short route.” That describes a single drive on the short route (home → office or office → home). If it meant both ways, it would say “round trip” or “both ways” like statement (2) does.

Can anyone help?

It is not mentioned in Statement A that the 2 hour - 25 mile/hour average journey is for both ways or one way

Shouldn't the answer be E?
