(1) When she drives from her home to the mall by the shorter route and returns by the longer route, she drives a total of 35 kilometers.
Insufficient
S + L = 35
We can't determine S from this
(2) When she drives both ways, from her home to the mall and back, by the shorter route, she drives a total of 30 kilometers.
Sufficient
2*S = 30
S = 15
(B) is the answer.

As the routes both from home to the mall and back from the mall to home are taken by the shorter route. So, the shorter route distance is 15Kms
