Let the price of caps and sunglasses be c and s respectively.

We need to find : 4c + 5s =?

Statement 1:

(1) The price of a cap was $2.00 more than the price of a sunglasses.

c = s+2

This is not sufficient to find the value of 4c + 5s. Hence,  Insufficient.

Statement 2:

(2) The price of 8 caps and 10 sunglasses was $45.

8c + 10 s = $45

we need the price of 4c + 5s = ?

when we divide it by 2, we get : ( 8c + 10 s )/2= ($45 )/2

4c + 5s = $22.5

Hence,  Sufficient
