Is the number of clients of Company X greater than the number of clients of Company Y?

(1) Of the clients of Company X, 25 percent are also clients of Company Y.
(2) Of the clients of Company Y, 37.5 percent are also clients of Company X.

We need to find : Is the number of clients of X greater than the number of clients of Y ?

Statement 1:

(1) Of the clients of Company X, 25 percent are also clients of Company Y.

25% of x is common to both Company X and Y.

Hence, Insufficient.

Statement 2:

(2) Of the clients of Company Y, 37.5 percent are also clients of Company X.

37.5 % of y is common to both Company X and Y.

Hence, Insufficient.

Combining Statements 1 and 2, we get

25% of X = 37.5% of Y

(X/4) = (3/8)Y

X = (3/2) Y

X : Y = 3:2

Hence, Sufficient.

we need to know if X's client more than Y
Let x have 100x and y have 100y clients

Now option 1:
common clients between x and Y is 25x Not sufficient

Option 2:
common clients between y and x 37.5y

now both together
25x=37.5y
x/y>1 so x>y hence sufficient . So option C

Is the number of clients of Company X greater than the number of clients of Company Y?

(1) Of the clients of Company X, 25 percent are also clients of Company Y.
25% are common in both. C=0.25X
Insufficient

(2) Of the clients of Company Y, 37.5 percent are also clients of Company X.
36.5% are common in both. C=0.375Y
Insufficient

(1)&(2)
0.25x=0.375y
x= (0.375/0.25)y
x= 1.5y
Thus, x>y
Sufficient
