What is Paul's age now?

(1) Paul is now twice as old as he was 12 years ago.
(2) Paul's brother Rob is now two times as old as Paul was exactly 12 years ago

We need to find the age of Paul = P

Statement 1:

(1) Paul is now twice as old as he was 12 years ago.

P = 2* (P-12)

solving we get , P =24

Hence, Sufficient.

Statement 2:

(2) Paul's brother Rob is now two times as old as Paul was exactly 12 years ago.

Let the age of Rob now be R.

R = 2* (P-12)

solving it ,we get two variables.

Hence, Insufficient

Option A
