Average of ( Mon, Tue, Wed) = 3
Then, Mon + Tue + Wed = 9
We need to find: Median.
Statement 1:
On Tuesday, Rasmus’s commute took 3 hours.
Tue = 3 hrs, then Mon + Wed = 6 hrs.
The possible values of Mon, Tue can be : 1,5; 2,4; 3,3; 4,2; 5,1.
With these values, the median is always 3.
Hence, Sufficient.
Statement 2:
On Monday, Rasmus’s commute took 2.5 hours.
Tue + Wed = 9 - Mon
= 9 - 2.5
= 6.5
Tue + Wed = 1.5 + 5. Median = 2.5.
Tue + Wed = 3+ 3.5. Median = 3.
So, we get two different medians. Insufficient.
