So, according to question, b+c+d=360..................(i)
Using (1), b=(c+d)3/5. Replacing this in eq. (i), we get (c+d)3/5 + c + d = 360 => c + d = 225.
Now, c and d can take any values. So, (1) is not sufficient.
Using (2), c=(b+d)3/5. Replacing this in eq. (i), we get b + (b+d)3/5 + d = 360 => b + d = 225.
Now, c = 360 - (c + d) => c = 360 - 225 => c = 135.
So, (2) is sufficient.
Thus, answer is - B. Statement 2 alone is sufficient, but statement 1 alone is not sufficient.

GMAT shortcut:
Whenever a statement says
One category = 3/5 of the other two categories combined
replace "other two categories combined" with
360 − that category
Statement (2):
C = (3/5)(360 − C)
This equation has only one variable, so C is determined uniquely.
Therefore Statement (2) alone is sufficient. Answer = B.
Let
B = beer
C = cookies
D = diapers
Total:
B + C + D = 360
Need: C
(1)
B = (3/5)(C + D)
Since C + D = 360 - B,
B = (3/5)(360 - B)
5B = 1080 - 3B
8B = 1080
B = 135
Then
C + D = 225
Cannot find C alone.
Not sufficient.
(2)
C = (3/5)(B + D)
Since B + D = 360 - C,
C = (3/5)(360 - C)
5C = 1080 - 3C
8C = 1080
C = 135
Directly found C.
Sufficient.
