What is the value of \((x + y)^4\)?

(1) The product of x and y is 7.
(2) x and y are integers.

Modified from: what-is-the-value-85380.html

Thats C ... no trap.
Try this one:

What is the value of \((x + y)^4\)?

(1) |xy| = 7

(2) x and y are integers.

E
as we can have x and y as (-1,7) (1,-7)(1,7) (-1,-7)

It is essentially the same as the previous non-modified version.
Ans should still be C.

Or is there a vicious trap ! :)

Answer should be (C) IMHO.

Either way (-7-1)= -8 or (7+1) = 8 when elevated to the fourth power should yield the same result.
Unless i'm missing something.
Please advice
Cheers
