OK, so I took my second TOEFL today. The first time was in August 2007 and I scored 114 so I wasn't too worried. I am pretty confident I did well in all the sections...save for one major hiccup on the last question in the speaking section. My problem is that I talk fast (but not to the point that native speakers don't understand me). Anyways, I did well on the first give questions and on the last one, I blew my load by the 30-35 second mark and just went "uhhhh" and "errrm" for the rest of the time. I mean completely blank, like when someone asks you a question when you weren't paying attention and you don't know the answer.
So what I want to ask is, how much is this blunder going to cost me. How does TOEFL rate such instances of isolated inconsistency? Do they take into account the performance in the whole section or is each question weighed individually?
