Hello guys! I was looking for a site that is actually active and could possibly help me with my toefl writing.
I know it's a GMAT site, but It would be great if someone graded my toefl essay!!!
the score range is out of 30.
well here is the question: What are some important qualities of a good supervisor (boss)? Use specific details and examples to explain why these qualities are important.
and my answer is:
Nowadays people are prone to seeing many advertisements or television shows that satirize relationships between boss and employee. In these films, many of the times, bosses hit their employees in the head with their paper works. As these films show, there are many boss-to-employ problems, and there needs to be a solution. If bosses were a bit more understanding, the relationships between the boss and an employee would improve. So in my point of view, a good boss has to be understanding.
There are several reasons to this: first, if bosses could comprehend their employees’ situations, they would be able to prevent misjudgments and misunderstandings. For example, an employee has a sick mother and has to take care of her. As a result, the employee is a little late to work and is castigated by the bigoted boss who doesn’t even give the employee a chance to explain. However, if the boss were a bit more understanding and heeded to the employee’s reason, they could have avoided conflict and gotten a better knowledge of each other. Moreover, as a synergy effect, the employee would respect the boss more and dedicate himself to his job better.
Second, if the bosses were more understanding, he would be able to communicate better. People tend to become contentious and argumentative when they don’t understand each other. Thus, if the bosses were more understanding of employee’s mistakes, there will be no need to yell at the employee and worsen their relationships. Understanding and forgiving employee’s mistake and will allow the boss to communicate with him better and encourage him to do better next time. This will also allow the employee to recount on his mistake and do a much better job next time.
For these reasons, I think a great supervisor needs to be understanding.
thank you so much for your time!
