My integrated essay:
The lecture opposes the idea of depending on turing test to prove that computers can really think. Although the turing test allows no direct contact between the test subjects and computers where you can't see who is on the other side interacting with you, the professor mentioned in his lecture that this turing test indicates behavior rather than thought.
The professor supported his opinion using the Chinese room example. If Chinese and English speaking people were asked to interact, and a detailed translation reference was present. Then people would use this to interact where they are said to act intelligent but they are not being intelligent. This shows that the turing test is not really a reliable indication to prove that computers can think.
