Hello all,
I am from India and plan to pursue MBA from either the UK or Europe (preferably France or Spain). I know that language proficiency is a must in most of the top tier schools and even though I have not taken my GMAT yet, I have some queries regarding the language proficiency tests so that I’m well prepared when it’s time for me to take the TOEFL or IELTS exam. I plan to apply for the September 2022 intake, since I don’t think I’ll be able to make it to the Jan 2021 intake. My queries are as follows:
1. Is there any exam preferable for different schools? Like, is it better to take TOEFL or IELTS or does it not matter?
2. Is there any specific preparation that is required for these two tests apart from the GMAT preparation? If yes, then approximately how much time should I take in hand? I am currently unemployed so once I take the GMAT I would have a significant amount of time to prepare for these tests.
3. What should be my target score for the top tier b schools of Europe and the UK?

IELTS or TOEFL have no preference. This tests are just a proof of English ability of International applicant who’s native language is not English.
Regarding preparation these test measures Listening, Reading, Speaking and Writing ability. So, if you’ve prepared for GMAT you are at advantage in Reading and Writing section. Listening section is even easier but you just need to get familiar with it. Finally, speaking .. you can test your ability and try comparing with test taker samples.
Scores depends upon universities. But if you have IELTS score of 7.5 or TOEFL score of 100 you can apply to most schools.
