FireShock
I know that it is a common question and there are already answers to it. Nevertheless, I am writing to hear advice from you.
To begin with, I have some general questions:
- Is there only one type of essays - Analysis of an Argument? Is there no Analysis of an Issue type in this year? Am I right?
- How many words should contains a good essay?
- What type of language should I use? By this I mean, can I use the informal type (contractions, phrasal verbs, idioms): "The author of the question is wrong, because he won't figure it out without killing a bird with one stone in his guess." If I use informal language will I reach a high mark?
- Yes, I understand that the informal type is a not appropriate type for an academic exam. However, will C2 words instead of B2/C1 affect the mark? For example, should I use more academic words such as 'undeniably', 'indeed', 'doubtless' instead of 'of course'?
In addition, a few questions about the structure:
- Can you give me the link to the best structure of essays?
- What do I need to write in the Introduction?
- How many sentences?
- Do I need to write some extra sentences such as 'In this day and age, hardly could anyone dispute the fact that not only novice students make this common mistake in such arguments, but also better-informed professors'?
- Similar questions about the bodies and the Conclusion.
Thank you.

Typically you should write anywhere between 450 - 500 words - What type of language should I use? By this I mean, can I use the informal type (contractions, phrasal verbs, idioms): "The author of the question is wrong, because he won't figure it out without killing a bird with one stone in his guess." I would suggest you to use a professional language that you would use in a business setting - Yes, I understand that the informal type is a not appropriate type for an academic exam. However, will C2 words instead of B2/C1 affect the mark? For example, should I use more academic words such as 'undeniably', 'indeed', 'doubtless' instead of 'of course'?
Yes.
