Hello texashect,

First of all, I want to say there are indeed a lot of international students here but there are more americans. I mean even if you can't make any "native" friends in classes or within MAS/MSA program, you can still get connected with native students through business events, student organizations (there are many many great business organizations worth joining that hires members from all levels) , or even a bar on a Friday night since there are tons of business students (most of whom are americans) as well as bars. Meeting people who speak English in UIUC is not a problem. The problem is how you define "enjoying time here" after you meet that many people. And going to classes where you will probably be "surrounded by" international students are really just a small portion of your life at UIUC.

Second, I want to clarify that "international students" doesn't mean "people who don't speak english". If they can't then how do they get accepted by a master program in a U.S. university? the requirements for such a great master program are pretty high and I believe international students have to work harder to get in and also need to go through an english interview in round 2 as domestic students do so I was wondering where you got that idea from.

However even if you are surrounded by people who don't speak english I'm sure you'll have a great time here at UIUC.
