hello there
i have spent the last 4 years slaving away for a b.s degree in biology and focusing all my efforts into dentistry
as i get closer to my graduation i am aware that i chose the health field as a "safety net"
i have always liked business/economics and my own brother is majoring in business/accounting
I've worked in an ER for 2+ years where the doctors always told me to push for a career integrating business
i would like to focus my attention now on getting a masters in marketing because i think its something that i can successfully integrate into any kind of field-esp the biochem/pharmaceutical field or simple consulting
-->problem is i have no upper division or fundamental bus courses except for differential calc/stats. i also went to school in the U.S (born in california) and would like to go to a school in canada for business. would i be able to get acceptance there within a year if i can take my gmat and additional business courses over the next year?
also whats the chances of me securing a job back in the states once i return from canada? (i simply am suffocated with the high costs and lack of education here in the U.S education system as well as the budget costs that have affected the cal state schools)

You have a very interesting profile. There are a lot of schools in US and Canada that accept students coming from a science background for their MSc Marketing/MSc Management degree. So your background in biology is not going to be a hindering factor. In fact, your background in biology coupled with the courses on statistics and differential calculus will strengthen your profile. Business schools love to have a diversity so your dentistry background is again going to be a plus point.
A GMAT score of 650+ will make your profile competitive. There are a lot of free resources available online to help you prepare for the GMAT.
I don’t think that you will face a lot of difficulties when it comes to securing a job in Canada after your masters. However, I will advise you to contact the school you are aiming to apply and ask them about degree recognition. However, you will have to justify and convince the admission committee why you want to shift to business in your essays.
